Purge!

To you, this may look like a pile of junk. To me, it is the beginning of my 100 item purge. I came across this (old) link recently, and thought this was the best time to do it!

EDIT: Since writing this thread, I have joined a FB event dedicated to this. It gives me extra motivation to stay on track, and it's nice to see what others are coming up with.

New year? New house. Clean house. Tidy house. Organized house. CLUTTER.FREE.HOUSE.

Hopefully.

So I recently started piling things up as I tidied. I haven't put too much thought into it yet, just picking up the basics that I realized I hadn't used in ages. The next step (as I clean up after Christmas) is actively going through each room and seeing what needs to be tossed or added to this pile for donations. So far, this is what we've got:
  1. Women's shirts (5)
  2. Women's shorts (4)
  3. Women's sandals, new with tags (1 pair)
  4. Women's scarf

Blog Challenge: Day 25

Your favourite day: Taking Addison home

Obviously her birth was amazing, but it was also long and scary. I had a Foley, and was scheduled for an induction at 41 weeks and 2 days. My water finally broke on its own but 13 hours later I ended up with a c-section. It was not the birth I had anticipated, and I was in a great deal of pain for quite some time. All I could think about was how badly I wanted to take her home, after a five day hospital stay. No more nurses poking and prodding. No more doctors asking 1000 questions. No more crappy hospital bed/pillow/blankets. No more hospital food. My favourite day was when I could relax in the comfort of my own home with my boyfriend and newborn daughter.

Blog Challenge: Day 24

Something you wish you could change:

Getting laid off sucked. I would've left this job at some point, but being forced to leave without any compensation, and having to leave behind all of the amazing perks I had here (and after a promotion) was really hard. I miss the people so, so much. It was easy, and fun, and within walking distance of my house. If I could change something, my work place would not have shut down. I would not have argued with the head of the company (who still holds his job) and watch people cry and yell over losing their jobs. It was hard. It was really hard.

Blog Challenge: Day 19

A picture and a letter:

Dear Turtle,
Why did you want to lay eggs on the side of the road? That's not safe. We had to put you back down near the creek where your babies belong. I hope they like it there because it was quite a hassle, what with you being a snapper. As Isaac poked and prodded to get you turned around, I didn't realize my cell phone dropped out of my pocket onto the gravel road. Two fire trucks drove by. Bye bye cell phone.
Silly turtle. I liked that phone.
Hope you're enjoying your new home,
T
